Is SHARKHIDE visible after application?

Application Questions
How do I apply SHARKHIDE?
SHARKHIDE is easy to apply yourself. Clean the surface, then wipe or spray SHARKHIDE on in thin, even coats. Let each coat dry 15-20 minutes before applying the next. Two coats recommended for outdoor exposure. No special tools, spray booths, or professional help needed.
How much product do I need?
- Small items (tools, wheels, grills): 1 aerosol can or 1 pint
- Motorcycle or golf cart: 1 pint to 1 quart
- Small boat (16-20ft): 2-4 quarts
- Large boat or RV: 1-2 gallons

Do I need to prep the surface first?
For best results, yes. Clean the surface with SHARKHIDE Aluminum Cleaner to remove oxidation and contaminants. For a mirror finish, polish with SHARKHIDE Metal Polish first. Protectant bonds best to clean, dry metal.
Can I apply SHARKHIDE in direct sunlight?
We recommend applying in shade or a covered area. Direct sunlight can cause the protectant to dry too quickly, making it harder to get an even coat. A garage, carport, or overcast day is ideal.
What's the best applicator?
Cloth diapers (Gerber Birdseye) are the preferred applicator — they provide smooth, even coverage without leaving lint. For large surfaces, a spray bottle speeds up application significantly. The aerosol version is ideal for hard-to-reach areas.

What's the difference between liquid and aerosol SHARKHIDE?
Same formula, different delivery. The liquid (pint/quart/gallon) is best for large surfaces — boats, RVs, trailers. The aerosol is perfect for detail work, tight spaces, wheels, and quick touch-ups. Many customers use both: liquid for the big job, aerosol for maintenance.
What does the Aluminum Cleaner do?
SHARKHIDE Aluminum Cleaner chemically removes oxidation, staining, and contamination that regular soap can't touch. It preps the surface for protectant application and restores brightness to dull, oxidized aluminum. It's the "clean" step in our clean-polish-protect process.
What is the Black Streak Remover for?
Black streaks are caused by water running down RVs, trailers, and boats, picking up dirt and degraded roof sealant. Our Black Streak Remover dissolves these stubborn streaks without damaging the underlying surface.
